12/18/10 (Season 6)
Father and son claim first place in Week 4
With the best weekly record so far this season, father-son combo of Tim Klavoon & Eric Klavoon finish 14-2. They also posted one perfect game as well. This marks Eric's third 1st place finish in the first four weeks of the season. In second place was Dan Klavoon & Dana Miseheimer, also tossing a perfect game and posting a 11-5 record.
Three teams tied at 7-9 in a battle for 3rd place. With even records in head-to-head play, this set up a three-way "shootout" to determine placement. Each team was given three rounds to score as many points as possible. Josh Greenauer & Adam Williams were the front runners with 16 points in the shootout, nearly going perfect. Nate Schutt & Scott Silverman scored 14 points to finish 4th, while Bob Greenauer & Kim Daugherty shot 12 points to land the 5th spot.
The series of the night took place between Josh Greenauer & Adam Williams and Bob Greenauer & Kim Daugherty. In the first game, Josh tossed an instant win, which was just the third thrown all season. Bob & Kim would win the next two games, with game two going to 5 overtime rounds and game three going to 7 overtime rounds. Their 7 overtime round game was the longest game played so far this season, and was just shy of the league record set in Season 4 (9 overtime rounds).
Speaking of overtime, the league saw 22 total overtime games played, with every team playing in at least four overtime games. Adam Williams leads the league overall, with 23 overtime games played in the first four weeks.
In an interesting twist, Alex Reinecke got paired with four different partners in Week 4. With a random draw format for partners, the player Alex got paired with was unable to attend last minute. So in effort to allow Alex to play, he played games with random partners in between matches. Of the 16 games, Alex got paired with LeeAnn Greenauer for 6 games, Eric Klavoon for 5 games, Dan Klavoon for 3 games, and Adam Williams for 2 games.
In the overall standings, Eric Klavoon maintains the number one spot, increasing his lead to 7 points. Dan Klavoon jumps up to second place, while Bob Greenauer is in third. Adam Williams maintains his fourth place position and Dana Misenheimer moves into 5th place. The league takes a three-week hiatus for the holidays and returns again for action in 2011 on January 8th.
