KanJam outside in the winter? Oh yes!
AllPro Parking wins winter KanJam tournament
During the weekend of February 12th & 13th, Downtown Buffalo was transformed into a festive winter celebration, continuing an exciting annual tradition. This marked the second year for the festival. It’s the stuff winter dreams are made of for adults and kids alike: Friends an family enjoying hot food and refreshments while strolling along downtown streets; winter carnival classics including ice skating, broomball, snowshoeing, carriage rides, and yes...KanJam!
Exactly 13 teams were up to the challenge of competing in an outdoor KanJam tournament in Downtown Buffalo, NY behind Coca-Cola Field. Battling the windy conditions, teams were separated into one of two divisions. With a tougher weather element present, games were shortened to four rounds for each team in what has been termed as a "Quick match." The team with the most points after four rounds would win the game. The top four teams from each division qualified for the playoff bracket.
AllPro Parking, consisting of Eric Duschnik & Jeff Bly, beat Dorkus Malorkus and Buffalo Braves, before eventually making it to the finals. Slackers (Jim & Kim Daugherty) were the other team to make it to the finals.
In the finals, AllPro Parking defeated Slackers two games to none to win the crown. The duo each won a brand new KanJam set as well as the 2011 Winterfest KanJam trophy.
